Portuguese

Recently, I made a commentary in queroterumblog.com, of the Alessandro Martins. After that, he invited me to write about my experience, or my case, as he himself suggested, in using two languages in my blog.

It was a surprise to me. I felt satisfied and blunt. After all, what should I to speak about this experience if it is so recent? But thinking about the suggestions of the proper Alessandro, I decided, with a small bellyache, to write this post.

computador2.jpgFirst, I have known blog one year ago when I became a Plug-in-Profit Site member, an excellent affiliation program. One of the 30 free lessons of this program, accurately 12ª lesson, calls launch your own blog.

All 30 free lessons are strategies suggested for the affiliation program to promote a web site and to gain money with that. In the case of blog, it has suggestions in such a way to construct one from blogger: http://www.YOUR~BLOGGER~USERNAME.blogspot.com), and to host your blog in your own host server (http://www. YOUR~BLOGGER~USERNAME.com/blog).

As a newbie, I ran, and I created my first blog, it is total in English language and using blogger. That was very hard! I was simultaneously coming back to study English and writing commentaries and articles to publish in the Internet.

It seems a joke, but in my first posts I did not know that I had to place tags, or keywords, increasing the visibility in the search engine tools as the Google, Yahoo, Msn and others.

At last, after some months writing on my blog, I have better known wordpress and the importance to have my own hosting server blog, like http://www. YOUR~BLOGGER~USERNAME.com/blog.

The two languages writing idea was born at that moment. That is if a blog is a creating contents tool, why not to attract readers from Portuguese exclusively reading?

Of this form, I started to create posts in Portuguese and to translate it into the English language. How do I do this? Like this way:
1. First of all I write in Portuguese.
2. I choose banners, appropriate images for the post.
3. The translation will be made after that, or better, in the following day, thus from each subject, I have two posts.
4. I make an artisan translation. I use my knowledge, Babel Fish, dictionaries online, as of the UOL and Cambridge, and others.
5. I choose others banners and images of spreading, and I publish it.
6. I do an orthographic revision using a Softer (he is not gratuitous) called WhiteSmoke.

In fact, I think it is not about translation, but a versions production. I explain: the form to say net work marketing, for example, in English, it can vary enormously. Thus, the best way is to work with specific keywords, which are related to its online business.

It brings me a hard work.. Besides it having that to think what to write, it is necessary to think throughout two languages. And I will not be counting about the translation unreliability’s.

On the other hand, I imagine that the versions are better than to use, literally, the online translators.

This 2 languages writing project have only one month, and what I noticed of result it was practically a small increase of visits to blog and clicks in the adsense.

Perhaps a greater resulted in everything, until the moment, it is I have found something that gives me pleasure. Today, beyond the blogs above related I am working also om 2 other projects:
• http://www.aguaesaude.com/blog - this blog will be focused directed for the market of water purifier. It will maybe also have versions in English in a brief future, therefore the company opened its doors in the United States of America.
• already http://www.soprando.net - this blog will be directed for my university work. My project is to use the blog as extension of the classroom, as well as notifying, to comment on history, education, art, science and technology.

To finish, it would like to thank for Alessandro for the opportunity, and I wait that this experience can liven up the reader to sail in the waves of its proper blog.
